Lowery Stokes Sims is a noted American art historian and curator with a specialization in modern and contemporary art, craft and design, since the 1970s. In 1997 she taught a class in the graduate program at the Center for Curatorial Studies entitled βThe National Art and the Issue of Ethnic Minorities: The Case Study for African American Artists.β The Lowery Stokes Sims Papers contain the files for the class including the syllabus, teaching notes, readings and coursework.
